organic compounds
The title compound, C14H18N2Si or (PhNH)2SiMe2, has been prepared and its single-crystal structure determined. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Each of them contains an N-Si-N fragment which is twisted out of the phenyl plane . Each molecule can be considered as having an approximate twofold axis.
metal-organic compounds
In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C10H8N2)2(H2O)4](ClO4)2·4C10H8N2, the asymmetric unit consists of one-half of a mononuclear [Cu(bpy)2(H2O)4]2+ cation (bpy is 4,4-bipyridine), one perchlorate ion and two solvent bpy molecules, the formula unit being generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry. A three-dimensional network with triangular channels is formed via O—HN hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions.
