The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₁₃H₈Br₂OS, contains two mol­ecules, in which the dihedral angles between the thio­phene and benzene rings are 10.5 (3) and 33.2 (4)°. There are no significant directional inter­actions in the crystal.
