In the title compound, C12H11N3OS, the dihedral angle between the pyridine and thiophene rings is 46.70 (9)° and the C—N—N—C torsion angle is 178.61 (15)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N—HO hydrogen bonds generate R22(8) loops.
