The title complex, [Ni(C13H16N)Cl(C18H15P)]·0.5C4H10O, consists of an NiII center coordinated by a dimethylaminoethyl-substituted indenyl ligand, a triphenylphosphine ligand and a chloride ion. The asymmetric unit includes two very similar molecules that show only small conformational differences in the indenyl side chain.

The title complex, [Ni(C12H19N2)Cl], consists of a slightly distorted square-planar NiII center coordinated by an anionic terdentate NCN pincer-type ligand, where both N atoms are trans to each other, and by a chloride ion. It is isostructural with two platinum analogues.
