The title compound, [NiCl2(C11H14N2O)2], was synthesized from 1-(2-ethoxyethyl)benzimidazole and nickel dichloride in ethanol and is isostructural with its cobalt analogue. It shows a distorted tetrahedral geometry about NiII, involving two Cl atoms and two benzimidazole N atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by C—H...Cl and C—H...O interactions.

The title compound, C15H13N3O2, was synthesized from 5-nitrobenzimidazole, 2-bromoethylbenzene and KOH in ethanol. The phenyl and benzimidazole ring systems are each planar and make a dihedral angle of 43.9 (1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak intermolecular C—H...N hydrogen-bond interactions.

The title compound, C22H20N2+·Br·H2O, was synthesized from 1-benzylbenzimidazole and 2-bromoethylbenzene in dimethylformamide. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 70.6 (1)°. These phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 52.99 (9) and 83.03 (8)° with the benzimidazole ring system. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular C—H...Br and O—H...Br hydrogen-bond interactions.
