The title compound, C₁₀H₁₅NO₂S, commonly referred to as (1S*,2S*)-(+)-thio­micamine, forms mol­ecular sheets parallel to the a and b axes. Within these sheets, the mol­ecules are connected by strong O—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds. The methyl­sulfanyl groups protrude from this network and are interwoven between adjacent sheets.
