The title compound, C₂₁H₂₄O₈, crystallizes as colorless needles composed of a racemic mixture that adopts the packing order of columns of alternating enanti­omers, all of whose oxirane rings are essentially aligned. Within each column, the carbonyl groups of adjacent enanti­omers are oriented in nearly opposite directions. The structure is stabilized by several C—H...O associations.
