The title mol­ecule, C₁₇H₁₆O₂, lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The dihedral angle between the planes of the two symmetry-related benzene rings is 15.56 (4)°. The molecular structure is stabilized by intramolecular O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds.
