Determination of the molecular weight of proteins in solution from a single small-angle X-ray scattering measurement on a relative scale

A novel procedure for the determination of the molecular weight of proteins in dilute solution from a single small-angle X-ray scattering curve measured on a relative scale is described.

Local atomic structure in tetragonal pure ZrO₂ nanopowders

The local atomic order of nanocrystalline pure ZrO₂ powders exhibiting the tetragonal phase, synthesized by different wet-chemical routes, has been investigated by extended X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (EXAFS). It was found that the crystallographic model widely accepted for the tetragonal phase does not fit the EXAFS data and, thus, alternative models were explored.

Structure of PbTe(SiO₂)/SiO₂ multilayers deposited on Si(111)

The structure of multilayered thin films - composed of layers of spherical PbTe nanocrystals embedded in an SiO₂ matrix - is studied by grazing-incidence small-angle X-ray scattering.
