Aqua­bis(2,2'-bi­imidazole)copper(II) dinitrate

The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C₆H₆N₄)₂(H₂O)](NO₃)₂, has been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. The five-coordinate geometry of the copper(II) centre comprises four N atoms from two bi­imidazole ligands and a water mol­ecule in a distorted square-based pyramidal coordination. Cu and the aqua ligand lie on a twofold rotation axis.
