In the title molecule, C14H13IN2O3S, the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene and toluene rings is 84.3 (3)°. The molecule displays a trans conformation with respect to the C=N bond. There is an intramolecular O—HN hydrogen bond with the azomethine N atom as acceptor. In the crystal, N—HO hydrogen bonds connect the molecules into chains running along the b axis.

In the title compound, 2C12H24N+·C6H6O72−·C2H6O, the cyclohexane rings of the cations adopt chair conformations. In the anion, intramolecular O—HO hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, the cations link with the anions via N—HO hydrogen bonds. Weak C—HO hydrogen bonds are also observed. The hydroxy group of the ethanol solvent molecule is disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.766 (5):0.234 (5).
