Polymeric bis­(lithium disodium nona­hydrate) deca­vanadate, {[LiNa₂(H₂O)₉]₂[V₁₀O₂₈]}_n

The crystal structure of the title compound, poly[deca-μ-aqua-octa­aqua-μ-deca­vanadato-dilithium(I)tetra­sodium(I)] [Li₂Na₄(H₂O)₁₈{V₁₀O₂₈}]_n, consists of polymeric chains composed of centrosymmetric [V₁₀O₂₈]⁶⁻ polyanions with C_i symmetry linked by [LiNa₂(H₂O)₉]³⁺ cation groups via O-polyanion—Na-group—O-polyanion coordination, with Na—O bond lengths of 2.366 (2)–2.495 (2) Å. The lithium disodium nona­hydrate is composed of two NaO₆ octa­hedra and one LiO₄ tetra­hedron. Hydrogen bonds occur between the polyanion and the cation group, and within the cation group. Intra­chain OW—H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize the polymeric chain structure, while inter­chain OW—H...O hydrogen bonds link neighbouring polymeric chains to form the complete supramolecular structure.
