In the title compound, C₆H₇ClN⁺·NCS⁻, the benzene ring and the protonated amine and chloro substituents are nearly planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.002 (2) Å for the N atom. In the crystal, the mol­ecules are linked by N—H...N and N—H...S hydrogen bonds into a chain along the b axis.
