The title compound, C₁₆H₁₆N₂O₂, was synthesized by the reaction of eth­yl 3-(4-methyl­phen­yl)acrylate and phenyl­hydrazine. There are inter­molecular N—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...π inter­actions.
