organic compounds
In the title compound, C12H20NO+·Br−·1.5H2O, two crystallographically independent quaternary ammonium cations are associated by three very short C—Hπ interactions with distances between the H atoms and the centroids of the benzene rings of 2.787 (8), 2.878 (7) and 2.932 (8) Å. A one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded spiral is formed along the b axis by O—HBr hydrogen bonds. Neighboring spirals are interrelated by translation and held together mainly by hydrogen bonds and O—HO interactions. C—HO and C—HBr hydrogen bonds and C—Hπ interactions play an important role in stabilizing the structure.
metal-organic compounds
In the title compound, [Cd(NO3)2(C12H8N2)(H2O)]n, each CdII ion is surrounded by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, and five O atoms from a water molecule and three nitrate anions, with two in bridging mode and one in chelating mode, forming a seven-coordinate CdO5N2 environment. Each cadmium(II) center is bridged to two others by two nitrate anions to produce a zigzag chain structure along the [010] direction. O—HO hydrogen-bonding interactions link adjacent chains into a two-dimensional network parallel to (001).
metal-organic compounds
The crystal structure of the title compound, [NdZn2(C4H5O2)6(NO3)(C10H8N2)2], is made up of discrete molecules of a trinuclear Zn–Nd–Zn complex, with the central Nd atom linked by three bridging bidentate α-methylacrylate groups to each of the two Zn atoms. The title complex is isostructural with its previously reported La and Pr analogues, and the Nd atom has a distorted square-antiprismatic coordination, formed by six O atoms of the bridging methylacrylate groups and two O atoms of a bidentate chelating nitro group. Both of the Zn atoms have a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination, formed by three O atoms of the bridging methylacrylate groups and two N atoms of the chelating 2,2′-bipyridine ligands.

The title compound, [La2(C4H5O2)6(C12H8N2)2]·2H2O, is a discrete centrosymmetric homodinuclear complex, which is structurally very similar to a previously studied analogue. The LaIII atoms are bridged by two bidentate and two tridentate carboxylate groups, with an LaLa separation of 4.0807 (4) Å. Each LaIII atom exhibits a distorted tricapped trigonal prismatic coordination formed by seven O atoms of bridging methylacrylate groups and two N atoms of the bidentate chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands.
