L-Leucyl-L-alanine Dimethyl Sulfoxide Solvate

In the title compiound, C₉H₁₈N₂O₃.C₂H₆OS, the dipeptide molecule exists as a zwitterion and the backbone adopts an extended conformation. The peptide unit is trans and shows slight deviation from planarity [[omega]₁ = 174.4 (3)°]. The leucyl side chain adopts the t(g⁺t) conformation. The crystal packing gives rise to channels which are occupied by the disordered DMSO solvent molecules.
