1,2-Diphenyl-3-benzylguanidine Hydrochloride

In the title compound, 3-benzyl-1,2-diphenylguanidinium chloride, C₂₀H₂₀N₃⁺.Cl^-, the guanidine moiety is protonated. Steric strain due to the phenyl substituents leads to distortions of the guanidine skeleton. All three guanidinium N-H groups donate hydrogen bonds to symmetry-related chloride ions.
