The title compound, [Sn₂Cl₄(CH₃)₄(C₆H₆N₂O₃)₂], crystallizes as a six-coordinate trans-C₂SnOCl₃ octahedral chlorine-bridged centrosymmetric dimer; some geometric details are Sn-O 2.399 (2), Sn-Cl 2.3583 (7), 2.4774 (7), Sn-Cl(bridge) 3.9341 (8) Å and C-Sn-C 137.7 (2)°.
