metal-organic compounds
The title compound, diaquabis(5-oxopyrrolidine-2-carboxylato-O2)zinc(II) [Zn(C5H6NO3)2(H2O)2], consists of a two-dimensional net of molecules, parallel to the (01) plane, linked by hydrogen bonds, with every Zn2+ ion displaying a distorted tetrahedral coordination. The main difference between the two 5-oxoprolinate ligands is in the conformation of the five-membered ring, with one having an envelope form and the other a planar twisted form.
