The structure and relative stereochemistry of O-methyldehydronorcacalol, C15H18O3, a sesquiterpenoid isolated from Traversia baccharoides Hook. f., is established. The molecular dimensions are unexceptional. The hydroxyl group takes part in a bifurcated H-bond arangement, intramolecularly (O...O 2.738 (3) Å with an adjacent methoxy O atom) and intermolecularly (O...O 2.784 (3) Å with an acetyl O atom of an adjacent molecule). The occurrence of the title compound in T. baccharoides may have taxonomic significance.
