The First X-ray Study of Alkoxynitrosoamines

As it was found, the structures of N,N'-dimethoxy-2,3-dimethyl-N,N'-dinitroso-2,3-butanediamine, (1), C₈H₁₈N₄O₄, and N-formyl-N,N'-dimethoxy-2,3-dimethyl-N'-nitroso-2,3-butanediamine, (2), C₉H₁₉N₃O₄, are isomorphic. Molecules occupy centers of symmetry and have almost the same geometry with a marked difference only for nitroso and formyl groups because of disorder in (2). Bond lengths of the alkoxynitrosoamine group have some differences compared with nitrosoamines.
