The stereochemistry of the major isomer, C15H24O2, resulting from the epoxidation of [gamma]-trans-himachalene has been established and hence, the configurations of the resulting derivatives have been deduced. The seven-membered ring is chair shaped while the six-membered ring adopts a 1,2-diplanar conformation.
