A new polyglycol complex, catena-poly [[(3,6-dioxaoctane-1,8-diol-![[kappa]](/logos/entities/kappa_rmgif.gif)
4O)(nitrato-2O,O')lead(II)]-![[mu]](/logos/entities/mu_rmgif.gif)
-(nitrato-O,O':O',O'')], [Pb(NO3)2(C6H14O4)]n, has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopy. The Pb atom is coordinated by ten O atoms from the polyglycol and nitrate groups. The compound is polymeric along the a axis, through bridging nitrate groups.
