In the title compound, C₅H₁₈B₁₀S, the mercaptoethyl and methyl groups are connected to the C atoms of the 1,2-dicarbaborane cage. The C_cage-C_cage distance is 1.670 (3) Å and the C-C_cage-C_cage-C torsion angle -1.2 (3)°.
