The title compound, [Rh2(C4H7O2)2Cl2(C8H6N2)2]·C2H3N, includes a dinuclear rhodium complex that has two bridging naphthyridine ligands cis to the Rh—Rh bond, two bridging butyrate and two axial Cl ligands. The Rh—Rh bond distance is 2.4269 (4) Å and the Rh—Cl distances are 2.5666 (7) and 2.5784 (7) Å. The bent Rh—Rh—Cl angles suggest steric repulsions between the Cl and naphthyridine H atoms.
