Tris(phenylselanyl)methane, C19H16Se3, crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R\overline{3}, with the CH group situated on a threefold axis. The carbon-selenium bond to the aromatic ring is slightly shorter than that to the aliphatic carbon atom. The tetrahedral angles at the methane carbon atom range between 107.4 (1) and 111.5 (1)°.
