The crystal structure of cadmium tetraoxorhenium tetrakis(thiourea), Cd(ReO4)2.4CH4N2S, is comprised of isolated trans-[Cd(ReO4)2tu4] clusters consisting of a CdS4O2 octahedron and two ReO4 tetrahedra. The Cd-S-C-N torsion angles are -22.6 (5) and 69.1 (4)° for the two thiourea molecules which are inclined at an angle of 10.8 (5)° with respect to one another. The structural units are held together by a complex network of hydrogen bonds.
