metal-organic compounds
mer-Trichloro(oxo)[2-(phenylamino)pyridinatoN,N']tungsten, [WCl3(O)(C11H9N2], is formed when tungsten(VI) oxotetrachloride and 2-(phenylamino)pyridine are heated in toluene under reflux. The ligand precursor loses an amino proton and forms a four-memebered chelate ring with an N-W-N angle of 61.0 (4)°. The monomeric complex displays a distorted octahedral coordination at tungsten.
