catena-Poly[cis-dichloro-trans-dimethyltin(IV)-μ-meso-1,2-bis(propylsulfinyl)ethane-O:O']

The coordination of the Sn atom in the title compound, [SnCl₂(CH₃)₂(C₁₄H₁₄O₂S₂)[_n, is octahedral, with chlorides at cis [Sn-Cl 2.482 (1) and 2.486 (1) Å] and methyl groups at trans positions [Sn-C 2.101 (4) and 2.105 (5) Å]. Completing the coordination, there are two different disulfoxide groups in a cis orientation [Sn-O 2.397 (3) and 2.404 (3) Å]. Each sulfoxide is bound to two Sn atoms, yielding infinite ribbons.
