2-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2-(N-acetylcarbamoylthio)ethanoic Acid–Acetonitrile (1/1)

The hydrolysis of 2-acetylimino-4-(4-chlorophenyl)-1,3-oxathiole-5-carbonitrile in air results in 2-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(N-acetylthiocarbamato)ethanoic acid, which forms a 1:1 adduct with the solvent acetonitrile molecule, C₁₁H₁₀ClNO₄S.C₂H₃N. Even after ring opening there still exists a short intramolecular S...O interaction [2.660 (3) Å]. The bond lengths and normal and in agreement with expected values.
