The structure of the title compound, [Ce{Fe(CN)6}(C2H5NO2)3(H2O)].H2O, consists of FeC6 octahedra linked to an eight-coordinate cerium ion via two cyanide bridging Ce-N-C-Fe groups. The rest of the coordination polyhedron of the cerium is formed by six O atoms; one from a molecule of water and five from glycine molecules. The three-dimensional framework is formed through N-H...N and O-H...N hydrogen-bonding interactions. Two glycine molecules form bifurcated hydrogen bonds. An additional uncoordinated molecule of water is within hydrogen-bonding distance of two glycine molecules.
