Structures of Four p-Amidoperbenzoic Acids

The crystal structures of p-acetamidoperbenzoic acid, C₉H₉NO₄ (I), p-propanamidoperbenzoic acid, C₁₀H₁₁NO₄ (II), p-butanamidoperbenzoic acid, C₁₁H₁₃NO₄ (III) and p-pentanamidoperbenzoic acid, C₁₂H₁₅NO₄ (IV) have been determined. Extensive hydrogen bond networks are observed within each structure. The hydrogen bond motifs forming these networks are very different to those observed in the structures of comparable p-amidobenzoic acids previously investigated by us [Feeder & Jones (1993).
