The crystal structures of p-acetamidoperbenzoic acid, C9H9NO4 (I), p-propanamidoperbenzoic acid, C10H11NO4 (II), p-butanamidoperbenzoic acid, C11H13NO4 (III) and p-pentanamidoperbenzoic acid, C12H15NO4 (IV) have been determined. Extensive hydrogen bond networks are observed within each structure. The hydrogen bond motifs forming these networks are very different to those observed in the structures of comparable p-amidobenzoic acids previously investigated by us [Feeder & Jones (1993). Acta Cryst. B49, 541-546].
