The positions of reflections on the diffraction pattern from a polycrystalline fiber are described by a cylindrical projection of the reciprocal lattice. The characteristics of the projection depend on the crystal system and the orientation of the fiber axis relative to the unit-cell axes. The program CPRL plots the positions of the reflections on a diffraction pattern from an oriented polycrystalline fiber (the cylindrically projected reciprocal lattice), for a triclinic unit cell with any orientation of the fiber axis. The results provided by the program facilitate interpretation of fiber diffraction patterns for complex systems.
