Dramatic increase in ferritin crystal lifetime with monochromatic synchrotron X-radiation tuned to a wavelength above the iron K absorption edge

A dramatic increase in the lifetime of ferritin crystals during single-crystal X-ray diffraction data collection has been observed in experiments with monochromatic synchrotron X-radiation tuned to a wavelength slightly above the iron K absorption edge.
