DL-Pheniramine Hydrogen Maleate

The structure of the title compound, N,N-dimethyl-γ-phenyl-2-pyridinepropanaminium hydrogen maleate, C₁₆H₂₁N₂.C₄H₃O₄^-, a potent anti-allergic drug, is composed of hydrogen-bonded pheniraminium cations and maleate anions, the latter forming a seven-membered ring through an intra­molecular hydrogen bond.
