In the crystal of L-histidinol phosphate tetrahydrate, C6H12N3O4P.4H2O, at 110 and 240 K, the L-histidinol phosphate residue exists as zwitterion in which the phosphate group is doubly ionized with the amino and imidazole moieties each accepting a proton from the acid group.
