In order to obtain structural parameters for a comparison with polynuclear metal complexes derived from the [Cu(C₇H₆N₂O₆)]^2- complex anion, the X-ray study of the title compound, Na₂[Cu(C₇H₆N₂O₆)].6H₂O, has been carried out. The molecular structure parameters are in agreement with the geometrical parameters of derived polynuclear complexes, in particular, with respect to the loss of planarity of the Cu₂N₂O₂ moiety.
