(R)- and (S)-2-(4-Bromophenyl)-2-oxoethyl 2-Methoxymethylpyrrolidine-1-dithiocarboxylate

The absolute configurations of both the enantiomers of the title compound, C₁₅H₁₈BrNO₂S₂, have been determined. As expected the molecuar dimensions of both forms are insignificantly different. The phenacyl and dithiocarbamate fragments are planar and approximately perpendicular to each other. The short N—C(=S) bond [1.330 (7) Å] indicates involvement of the N-atom lone pair in the thiocarbonyl π system.
