The structure of [Au(C
4H
5NS)
2]CF
3SO
3 reveals essentially linear cationic gold(I) units [C11—Au—C21 175.8 (7)°]. These linear cations are aggregated through alternating Au
Au interactions [3.1926 (11) and 3.4830 (10) Å] to form chains of Au atoms parallel to the
c axis.
