The crystal structure of bis[μ-3-(2-pyridyl)-1H-pyrazolato]-1κ2N′,N2: 2κN1;1κN1:2κN′,N2-bis[dichloro(dimethylformamide-O)indium]–dimethylformamide (1/2), [In2Cl4L2(dmf)2].2dmf [where HL is 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazole, C8H7N3, and dmf is dimethylformamide, C3H7NO], contains pairs of [InCl2(dmf)] fragments linked by two pyrazolate bridges from the deprotonated bridging ligand 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolate (L−). This ligand acts as a bidentate N-donor chelate to one metal centre using the pyridyl N and pyrazolyl N2 atoms, and bridges to the other metal using the (deprotonated) pyrazolyl N1 atom. Each InIII centre, therefore, has an N3Cl2O donor set.
