The structure of the title compound, [Cu2Cl2(C9H14N2)2(μ-Cl)2], has been determined. The geometry about the Cu atom is square pyramidal. The complex exists as a dimer about an inversion centre with the Cu atoms linked by two asymmetric chlorine bridges. The dimeric structure of this complex differs from the polymeric dihalo bridged chain of CuLX2 complexes, where L = 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine.
