The results of a trial powder diffraction experiment on the ADONE storage ring at the Frascati National Laboratories (Italy) are described. A (220) channel-cut Si crystal was used to provide a monochromatic beam and it was demonstrated that Debye-Scherrer photographs could be obtained in several hours. It was also shown that very high resolution can be obtained simply by increasing the camera dimensions. Finally, it is shown that with the higher fluxes of the SRS at the Daresbury Laboratory (England) very fast exposures will be possible without the need for focusing.
