Generalization of the ZRD-SEARCH-MATCH program for powder diffraction analysis

Two major improvements in the ZRD-SEARCH-MATCH program [Frevel (1965). Anal. Chem. 37, 471-482; Frevel, Adams & Ruhberg (1976). J. Appl. Cryst. 9, 199-204] now permit (1) complete generalization of the minifile(s) of standards, including file creation and editing capabilities, and (2) operation inhouse on a dedicated microcomputer. The program is used to provide candidate phase matches for routine samples by executing the search automatically after data collection/reduction.
