The mean values <D> and <D2> of the thickness D of antiphase domains in an ordered Ni3(Fe0.76, Al0.24) alloy have been calculated by making the assumption that each type of adjacent domain structure is equally probable. These values deduced from the slope of the Fourier transform of the 100 intensity profile and of its integral breadth are in good agreement with those obtained by using the thickness repartition calculated in the way suggested by Cheary, R. W. & Grimes, N. W. [Acta Cryst. (1972). A 28, 454-458].
