Conventional and inverse pole figures have been made to characterize the changes in texture which occur during the annealing of beryllium sheet rolled from cast ingots. Two aspects of recrystallization reorientation were observed. Primarily, the basal plane (0002) poles distribute themselves throughout a zone along the equator between the normal and the cross directions of the pole figure. Secondarily, there is a slight tendency for basal poles within the equatorial zone to be positioned between 40° and 50° from the normal direction, making the twin plane (102) parallel to the rolling plane. There is very little change in the prism plane (100) texture during recrystallization.
