Thermal expansion of yttrium and gadolinium iron, gallium and aluminum garnets

Lattice constants of yttrium and gadolinium iron and gallium garnets and of yttrium aluminium garnet have been measured in the temperature range 296–1400°K. The results show that among these, GdGaG gives the closest match of Δa/a₀ vs. T to YIG and to GdIG.
