A method is described for unfolding the convolution products based on substitution of successive foldings. It is illustrated by correcting the observed X-ray patterns of a carbon black for instrumental broadening. The applicability of the method is briefly discussed. It has been found that accurate solutions are quickly obtained if the function desired is integrable and everywhere differentiable. The method requires no analytical expressions and is ideally suited for computers.
