The crystalline structure of CuFeIII2(P2O7)2 [copper(II) diiron(III) bis(diphosphate)] is characterized by isolated and centrosymmetric FeCuFe trimers. The CuII atom has square-planar coordination geometry, with Cu—O distances in the range 1.920 (3)–1.934 (3) Å, while the FeIII atom is octahedrally coordinated, with an average Fe—O distance of 2.000 (3) Å.
