The structure of Co₁₀Ge₃O₁₆ corresponds to a regular inter-growth along the c_hex axis of its rhombohedral cell of triple spinel-type Co₇Ge₂O₁₂ layers and single rock-salt-type Co₃GeO₄ layers.
