The title compound, (C36H30NP2)[Ru8P(CO)22]·CHCl3 or [N(PPh3)2][Ru88-P)(CO)22]·CHCl3, comprises a square anti­prismatic octa­ruthenium cluster anion with an inter­stitial phosphido ligand, two bridging carbonyl ligands, and 20 terminal carbonyl ligands, together with a disordered PPN cation and a disordered chloro­form solvent mol­ecule.
